The human body has seven main chakras, energy centers that spread spiritual power throughout us. Widely known as spinning disks of energy, chakras play a key role in our overall emotional and physical well-being.
When a chakra is closed or not functioning properly, it is then that we begin to experience a host of problems within ourselves. More often than not, we are unaware that our chakra health is at the root of some of the troubles we are experiencing. A blocked heart chakra, for example, can lead to trust issues, depression, anxiety and closing oneself off to potential loving relationships.
An open heart chakra, on the other hand, encompasses healing, love and forgiveness. Love flows freely from our hearts. Open heart chakras can be seen most clearly in children where joy of life and innocence is still very strong.
So it goes without saying that taking care of our chakras is vital to our well-being. Once we delve into our chakra system, we begin to understand how and why things affect us the way they do and, most importantly, how we can keep them healthy and open so we can live our best lives.

While the human body has a chakra system, it is not so well-known that the Earth has chakras too. Our wonderful planet is affected by energy in the same way we are. These spinning wheels of energy located at seven different points in our planet are fundamental to our collective energy.
Where Are the Earth’s Chakras Located?
The Earth’s chakras are in the following places:
The Earth’s Root Chakra:
Mount Chasta in California. This energy grounds humanity and is the core of Mother Earth’s energy.
The Earth’s Sacral Chakra:
Lake Titicaca. Located in-between Bolivia and Peru. Governs energy related to creativity, passion and sexuality.
The Earth’s Solar Plexus Chakra:
Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Located in Australia and known as the lifeline of the world. This energy provides vitality to all living beings.
The Earth’s Heart Chakra:
Glastonbury, England. This energy governs love, healing and compassion.
The Earth’s Throat Chakra:
Great Pyramid of Giza, Mount Sinai and Mount Olives. Located in Egypt and Israel and known as the Voice of the Earth, promoting powers of communication.
The Earth’s Third Eye Chakra:
Location Unknown but suspected to be Glastonbury, England. It is believed that the Third Eye Chakra is aligned with the Heart Chakra and is also in Glastonbury.
The Earth’s Crown Chakra:
Mount Kailesh. Located in Tibet, the Himalayan Mountains are known as the Crown of the Earth. It is believed that during a Full Moon in Scorpio, a gateway to the spirit realm opens on Mount Kailesh.
The Heart Chakra in Glastonbury – What You Need to Know
The heart of the world lies in the county of Somerset, England. Somerset is a part of the West Country which also includes Devon and Cornwall. Here, the magic of old England is still very strong and whenever someone travels to the West Country, they can feel it on some level.
Stonehenge in Wiltshire is also located here. The Heart Chakra exists somewhere between Glastonbury and Shaftesbury and the chakra also extends to Stonehenge. Stonehenge is perhaps the world’s most famous prehistoric monument and its energy is palpable to all who cross its path.
I have my own experiences with Glastonbury. Five years ago, before I had ever visited the town, I had been meditating in quiet solitude when suddenly a voice in my head said, “Go to Glastonbury!”
I had never been. What I knew of Glastonbury at the time was that it was known for a yearly festival. However, I heeded the call and I visited several weeks later.
The experience was extraordinary enough to keep me going back on an annual basis. I have visited Glastonbury every year since then. During my first visit, I met a shaman who performed healing work on me (something I had never experienced before) and over the years, the changes in me were prominent.
When you are in Glastonbury, you can feel a very strong energy. It is all around you. Everyone who is in Glastonbury is there for a specific reason to do with their spiritual development at a deep and often life-changing level and yet many do not know why they are there, as I didn’t know when the voice told me to go there. The stories in the town are dedicated to esoteric items – crystals, incense and Tarot items are all very common. The energy of the Heart Chakra is felt wherever you go, whether it is in one of the stores, walking down the street, outside a church, up high on Glastonbury Tor, or at the Chalice Well.

Glastonbury is also known for its ancient history. There is much mystery shrouded here. The legend of King Arthur is prominent here and it is believed that the famous king was buried in Glastonbury Abbey. Glastonbury was also known as Avalon which features heavily in the legend of King Arthur. Glastonbury is also where it is said that Joseph of Arimathea travelled to with the Holy Grail, which he buried on the grounds. It is also believed by some that Jesus Christ travelled with Joseph to England from the Holy Land. This is best epitomised in William Blake’s famous hymn ‘Jerusalem’.

Walk upon England’s mountains green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
On England’s pleasant pastures seen?
Glastonbury – A Calling
If you ever find yourself in Glastonbury, you have been called to go there. Whether you planned to go there or you ended up there by chance, you are where you are meant to be. The Heart Chakra centers around love, compassion, forgiveness and peace. When the earth’s Heart Chaka calls to you, there is something fundamental about these qualities in your own life that is calling for your attention.
We are evolving spiritually, every day and in every way. The chakras of the Earth are there to help us and guide us. Love is the greatest force on Earth. When it calls out to you, answer the call.
