Aspects show us the relationship and harmony (or disharmony) between the planets in our birth chart.
It shows us how they interact with each other, and therefore how the many facets of ourselves interact with one other.
We are all beautifully unique, made up of many facets, and sometimes those parts of us are conflicting, sometimes they are contradicting, some work beautifully and even enhance one other.
All within the little world that is us.
Our birth chart, and specifically the aspects within our natal chart, can illuminate areas of ease and abundance in our lives where we feel like luck is just on our side.
They can also help us bridge the link between some of the more difficult experiences we each move through.
Having this awareness allows us to take the steps towards working in harmony with our unique blueprint.
It allows for not just self-acceptance but also healing and thriving.
A conjunction occurs when any planet is in the same sign as another planet. This allows the two planets’ energies to blend together in harmony. They act together, almost becoming one. Whether this is a more beneficial or difficult aspect is dependent upon what planets are together. Naturally, some planets are at greater ease with some more than others.
As the name suggests, an opposition occurs when two planets are in an opposite position from each other in the chart. This energy is asking us to balance opposites and get comfortable with polarity. It can find us swinging from one opposite to the other, but when we learn to work with it, it helps us to see both sides of the coin and fosters brilliant insight into situations.
Where we find sextiles in our chart are very likely areas of ourselves that we already acknowledge and appreciate. Sextiles occur when a planet is 2 signs away from another and represent our natural talents, gifts – where we just shine. Working with your sextile aspects can allow you to sharpen the gifts you already have.
A trine is an aspect to be celebrated and appreciated. In the chart, a trine is where a planet is 4 signs away from another and in the same element. For example, if your Mercury is in Aries (fire) and your Venus is 4 signs away in Leo (also fire) this is a Trine. A trine shows you where you experience beautiful luck, where you naturally receive blessings, where life seems to just flow. Here the planets support and enhance the positive qualities of one another.
Squares are a point of friction. They create some tension in attempt to encourage us into action – just like the old expression of lighting a fire under someone’s… rear end. Squares are found when planets are 3 signs away from each other and are there to usher us out of complacency and into action. They are often more difficult to work with when we are younger, but ultimately show us where we can experience an abundance of growth – if we choose.
