Jupiter is our planet of growth, good luck, abundance, and joy with a deeply intuitive relationship with wisdom and higher knowledge. Even the thought of Jupiter can allow us to feel at ease, as if one if its intentions as a planet is to remind us of just how supported and magnificent we are. To remind us that life is on our side, that growth is the natural state of the Universe and therefore the natural state of each of us.

As a slower moving planet, Jupiter spends about a year in each zodiac sign and goes into retrograde once in that year long cycle. Throughout 2022, Jupiter spends time in two signs: Aries and Pisces.

Beginning the year in the watery sign of Pisces, Jupiter entered Aries in May this year, where it will stay until October 28 until it returns to back to Pisces. Once in Pisces once again, it will remain in its retrograde motion until November 23.

 

Jupiter in Retrograde

Whilst in retrograde, the outward and expressive energy of Jupiter turns inward. Instead of seeking wisdom through the world around it, it seeks it from within. Instead of witnessing our outside world as where the adventure takes place, suddenly we become the inner adventure. Our inner landscapes become our favourite travel destination and our inner worlds reveal their richness.

Just as a full Moon acts as a torch illuminating aspects of self, Jupiter’s approach is similar in the sense that it expands all aspects of self. It expands our wishes and dreams, our wisdom and love, making them bigger and brighter. It can also expand our beliefs that no longer serve us, or patterns that we have outgrown.

The beauty of allowing astrology into our lives as portals of guidance, is the awareness that it brings us. While we move through this retrograde and witness any beliefs, ways of being, or old identities coming to the surface, we can stay in the knowing and trust that these ways of being are here so that they may be witnessed, healed, and let go of. Because you deserve a life free from all that does not serve you – this is what Jupiter desires to explore with you.
