Opening the door to our first Eclipse Season of the year, April is also an 11 month in numerology holding the gifts of inspiration, alignment, purpose, and invitation to connect with the Divine.
It is a month with an auspicious feel to it, as if a re-alignment is taking place, as if all divine hands are on deck holding us with each step we take, celebrating our every move.
There is a welcoming of a vast self into being, where we are reminded that we have the divinity, the power, the strength, the knowing, the trust, the truth, and the wisdom, to know in this moment what is for us and what is not, and to make any adjustments necessary. It’s a soul aligning month, with our hearts guiding us towards what is uniquely true for us.
With a Libra full Moon inviting deep inner healing, an Aries Solar Eclipse activating a new path, aspects with Pluto allowing for transformation, and more, April also ushers in our second Mercury Retrograde of the year, inviting us to dive into recommitting to our values, desires, and self-worth.

3 April – 11 June: Mercury in Taurus
Mercury is a quick-moving planet representing the mind, communication, intellect, and learning. As a planet, it generally doesn’t spend a lot of time within any particular sign, almost mimicking the speed and movement of our own minds from one thought to the next.
While in Taurus however, it will begin to slow down. Entering the grounded Earth sign on April 3, Mercury will then begin its second retrograde of the year on April 21 until May 15, where it will continue to remain in Taurus until 11 June.
As Mercury meets Taurus, we are gifted time, space, and a slower pace. Here, we are invited to challenge the tendency to override information by going too fast, and instead spend time with what we may be thinking, learning, or communicating – being with it piece by piece, spending our time with it and letting it sink into our bodies to be felt experientially. With the influence of Taurus, it’s not just about the words being shared or received, or the information being learned, it’s also about how they make us feel, when senses they enliven in our bodies, and how we can patiently integrate them into our realities.
After the quick pace of Mercury in Aries over the last few weeks, this is a beautiful opportunity to take the many ideas that were sparked throughout March and begin to ground them into practical application and grounded planning.
Taurus is methodical, purposeful, patient, and enduring. It is productive and stable, loyal to its vision and in no rush. It reminds us of the beauty in the journey, asking us to savour each step of the path just as much as the arrival of the destination.
Here we are gifted with the invitation to ground our ideas, inspirations and desires into a journey that not only allows us to create and manifest those realities, but also enjoy and savour each step taken in that very creation process.
6 April: Libra Full Moon
Full Moons are moments in the lunar cycle where something has peaked. It is the expression of an energy at its fullest all so that we may clearly see and be with it. Just as the beauty of the full Moon cannot be ignored on a night sky, all that it illuminates within us can’t either.
This week brings a full Moon in Libra. Libra is balance, reminding us that we cannot come into a space of balance if there are places and spaces within us that we cannot touch, witness, acknowledge, tend to, or accept, and just like the full Moon, all of us is on display this night – the parts of us we know and accept, and the parts of us we are still learning how to journey with.
Libra connects us with one another, it is love, partnership, collaboration, and companionship. Under this full Moon, love is the medicine that softens our armour, inviting us to tend to any hurt hiding beneath the surface. And relationships hold the very keys to our healing. Sometimes it is within another the words we are ready to hear, the softness we are ready to receive, or the perspective we are ready to crack us open. Sometimes it is within offering love to another that we gain access to it ourselves.

11 April – 7 May: Venus in Gemini
Wherever Venus travels through our cosmos, she brings blessings, beauty, and ease. In astrology, Venus is our planet of love representing harmony, pleasure, receptivity, beauty, and value. As Venus comes into Gemini on 11 April 2023, there is a playfulness that fills the air.
Gemini is a social air sign of communication, variety, and curiosity. It is how we connect and interact with the environments, situations, possibilities, and people around us.
While Venus is in Gemini until May 7, 2023, allow your communication to be a vehicle of loves expression. Invite your words to connect you with those you treasure. And, welcome in a sense of play, beauty, and curiosity into your days.

11 April: Sun conjunct Jupiter
It’s known as the luckiest day of the year. The Sun and Jupiter come together on April 11, 2023, sparking abundance, growth, renewal, and opportunities.
The Sun has always been a central focus in astrology, and for good reason. It is the giver of life and vitality, representing the spark that is our spirit, individual self, and the motivating force behind all movement and expression.
When the Sun meets up with a planet in the sky, it is known as a cazimi, coming from an Arabic term meaning “in the heart of the Sun”. A cazimi is a special moment, bringing growth and renewal around the themes of whichever planet is meeting the Sun.

20 April: Aries New Moon Solar Eclipse
It’s the energy of a new Moon, plus so much more.
This week’s new Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries on 20 April, 2023, is not only an astrological highlight of the week, but it is also a major theme of April and one of the main cosmic happenings of the year, as Eclipses always are.
A Solar Eclipse meets us approx. every 6 months as the Moon reaches the beginning of a new cycle – a new Moon – while sitting directly between the Sun and the Earth. This blocks the Sun’s rays, casting a shadow onto the Earth. There is also a communication between the Sun and Moon, and the Lunar Nodes, which in astrology represent destiny, purpose, and Soul alignment.
In Astrology, Eclipses signify openings and closings, acting as a moment in time in which we are invited to set both new patterns and ways of being, and break free from expired ones. Eclipses invite a sense of awakening, alignment, and soul-informed movements, supporting us in reaching greater clarity in where to go next, and what to disengage from on our path.
They are the entire cycle of birth, death, and rebirth yet in concentrated form, piercing through any noise to ensure their influence is heard. Looking back throughout the chapters of our lives we can often see important steps taken throughout Eclipse Seasons, ones that ripple out for years to come.
In true Aries style, there is an abundance of ‘new’ energy under this lunation. 20 April – 21 May: Taurus Season
Taurus, ruled by Venus in Astrology, invites us into pleasure. It reminds us of the beauty surrounding us in both grand and small ways and asks us to enjoy all of it. Taurus calls us to inhabit our body with greater presence and awareness, bringing us down from our minds and into this physical form. It returns us to our senses reminding us of the wonder that can be experienced through them. It brings us home to our humanness.
Taurus season, beginning 20 April 2023 and continuing to 21 May 2023, invites us to really occupy our lives. To be present in what is real, meaningful, and what truly matters when we take away the noise. And to take the many ideas, passions, and desires of Aries Season and begin to make them real.

Mercury Retrograde, like all other astrological events, is filled with invitations and opportunities, wisdom, and insights, if we so choose to see them.
Retrogrades in Astrology represent R-E words like review, rethink, realign, reconsider, reassess, recommit, and so on.
They are the one step back that propel us into the many steps forward. A moment in time to pause and integrate our actions taken, inviting greater insights, perspectives, and self-awareness that this pause in movement and doing allows for.
