As we step into eclipse season, we step deeper and deeper into ourselves.
Mark your calendars – the sky has big plans for us.
Each month we follow the Moon as she moves through her consistent cycle of new beginnings, into fullness, and each phase in between bringing us divine guidance. And every so often, we move through one of the most significant events in astrology, an eclipse.
An eclipse occurs when the Moon’s orbit aligns with the Sun and begins its phase of a New Moon or Full Moon in crossing of the Lunar Nodes.
If an Eclipse falls on a New Moon, we have a Solar Eclipse. If it falls on a Full Moon, it is a Lunar Eclipse. Still holding the fundamental energies of the New Moon and Full Moon – an eclipse intensifies and adds to them. Therefore, a New Moon Solar Eclipse speaks to new beginnings and unexpected opportunities that our Soul is guiding us into, and Lunar Eclipses are major illuminators highlighting where we are ready to release and shift – speaking to divine endings.
Eclipses appear in our lives every year multiple times, but if that makes this powerful event seem any less significant – know that the energy of an eclipse can linger for months, and can shape the major energies of our lives for years to come (approx. 2 years!)
The reason this event is so significant is because we are working with the Lunar Nodes.
Our Lunar Nodes appear in our birth chart as points of destiny with our North Node illuminating our Souls purpose, our life direction, our greatest and most fulfilling path for this lifetime – and our South Node showing us where we are coming from, what we have already mastered in past lives, and the comfort zone that we are ready to learn from and expand out of. With our Lunar Nodes activated, we can see the clear path laid out by our Soul, communicated to us through our Lunar Nodes.
In saying all of this –
Eclipses serve as celestial checkpoints, a re-start button, a divine re-alignment of our Souls destiny.

YOUR SOUL HAS A PLAN
It is no accident that we, each of us, uniquely, are here in this lifetime at this specific time, with our own specific identity and talents, with our own specific soul family. Nothing is an accident. Life is divinely guided and structured beyond ways that we could ever fully comprehend.
The passions you have are on purpose. The curiosities you have are on purpose. Everything about you is on purpose. Before you came into this lifetime your Soul had a clear plan of what it wanted to achieve this time around, with experiences, lessons, and creations that it could not wait to move through.
That’s what astrology is for us; a way for us to read the plan of our Soul. A way for us to come home to ourselves, to awaken and remember to what we have always known. A way for us to connect with the voice and guidance of our Soul. While we always have free will in choosing our path, we often find that our most fulfilling choices and steps throughout life are the ones that are aligned with our Souls purpose, whether we are aware of it or not.
DIVINE RE-ALIGNMENT
Eclipses are here are here as major points of remembering. They are a portal of realignment, shedding and new ways of being – taking us from all that was never really us and into all that we could be, all that we are.
They are an extra boost of energy from the cosmos to re-align us with our path, our purpose, our plan. They open a space for your Souls voice to suddenly become louder, stronger, with a deep intention to bring you home. They open up a space for uncanny synchronicities, pulling you back into alignment, letting go of what has held you over there instead of over here, shedding what was never really you.
Eclipses are a powerful opening to peer into the deeper plan of our Souls. As if layers of cloudiness, fogginess, disappears, and suddenly there is clarity. Whenever we are moving through an eclipse, we are really moving through a powerful opportunity. A powerful opportunity to connect with our Soul, align our lives and begin anew. They put us exactly where we should be, sometimes before we can understand it ourselves.
The experience of an eclipse will always be different for each of us, each time. Great change can be difficult, it can be painful, confusing. Great change can be exhilarating, exciting, fulfilling. So just know, however you are feeling through an eclipse is okay. You are allowed to feel scared; you are allowed to feel like you are bursting with positivity (even if those around you aren’t feeling this way). You are allowed to feel whatever is wanting to be felt.
If it feels like doors are slamming shut, know that new doors are opening even quicker. If you feel unstable amongst sudden shifts, know that this is life bringing you home, and once you get there, once the clouds pass, oh it is beautiful.
The greatest thing we can do during this time is lean into trust. Trust that whatever comes your way is for your highest good, and the highest good of those around you. Trust that you will only ever be brought what you can handle. Trust that you know your way through any obstacles. Trust that is a beautiful unfolding.
An unfolding story
If you’re looking at the dates and signs above of 2021’s Eclipses and noticing they are similar to 2020 – you are correct! As I write this we are in May, with our first Eclipse of the year coming up later in the month. This Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius links us to the Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius on June 5 of last year, and even stronger, the Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius on December 14 2020. The Eclipse we have in Gemini in June also links to the Lunar Eclipse in Gemini of November in 2020.
It’s always an ongoing theme, and the themes that began on any Solar Eclipse will in some way or another meet us when the Lunar Eclipse in the same sign comes around.
