21 May marks Gemini Season. It’s the changing of seasons from one way of being to another. As the Sun moves from Taurus and into Gemini, we move from the body and into the mind. We are invited to be social, communicate, learn, think, explore variety, lean into our many curiosities, and to play.

The Sun moves through twelve zodiac signs in twelve months. It begins in Aries, enters Taurus, and then arrives in Gemini, our third zodiac sign. As the Sun is the centre of our Solar System, it similarly holds a key role in Astrology. It is our life force, our vitality, and our spirit. As the Sun journeys through the cosmos meeting each zodiac in our skies, the very life force that moves through each of us shifts to be expressed with the essence of that sign.
In Taurus Season, we moved and experienced life through the essence of Taurus – slow and steady building, beauty, embodiment, slower movement, occupied with the tangible.
As the Sun shifts into Gemini, it’s as if that very spirit that sparks life within us takes on the invitations and interests of this zodiac sign, and in a way, we become the living and breathing embodiment of Gemini for the next ~ month.
There is a certain playfulness that Gemini holds as an archetype. It’s a curiosity and thirst for mental exploration that could never be fully quenched. It’s seeing the world through the eyes of an excited child. It’s an eagerness to mentally take in all it can, so that it may then share this information in as many directions as possible through the magic of the spoken or written word.
It gathers and disperses. Collects and shares. Knowledge moves freely through this dynamic sign which acts as a clear vessel.
Gemini is a mutable air sign, and just as air moves quickly, freely, and without bounds, as does Gemini. The invitations present within our minds throughout this season desire to take us in every direction, any direction, without bounds, free to roam. We may be gifted with new interests, exciting new topics to learn and explore. Books, courses, conversations, classes, writing, speaking, new experiences, different people – life is a playground for the mind, and Gemini wants to take full advantage of that playground.
Just like air can clear stagnant energy and bring in fresh new life, as can Gemini. Gemini Season offers the gift of clearing what may feel dormant, lifeless, stuck, or simply ready to leave, like a beautiful gush of air moving through a building. Gemini Season invites us to air out our lives, and to disperse new energy throughout, and it does so through that very curiosity and excitement for all that is available to learn and share. It brings in new life by sparking interest.

Words are a gift. They are one of the many ways we make sense of the world and our experience of it. Communication is a gift. It is one of the many ways we can then share our understanding and excitements of the world, and it is one of the ways we form connection.
Gemini is like a glue that binds us all together through those very words. It is the glue that allows us to mentally understand our human experience. It connects. It brings the dots together. Both in our social life with one another, and in our minds. It pulls information and knowledge from everywhere it possibly can, taste testing the vast and opportune rich invitations that life presents to then bring it all together on one plate of understanding.
Gemini is play. Play lightens. Laughter moves energy. Excitement sparks. Joy cracks open what is stuck. Curiosity moves us. Interest turns on the light in a once dark room.
It’s a season of this very lightness, movement, clearing, play, curiosity, and spark.
Like that gush of wind, it is inviting us to let go of what feels stuck, and welcome in whatever may be next for us.
Like the changing of seasons, it is inviting us to transmute. Gemini holds the essence of change because it is movement itself. This season reminds us that we are malleable, in constant movement, changing shape, form, interests, identities. We are that very air – free, changeable, ungraspable, in motion, moving wherever we are guided.
Throughout this season, allow your curiosity to be your north star.
Allow play to be your most healing and nurturing state of being. And, lean into the beauty of words as if they were your most nourishing meal. Communicate. Share yourself. Share what excites you.
