When is Eclipse Season 2024?
March 2024 welcomes Eclipse Season with a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra on March 25, 2024, and a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries on April 8, 2024.
We have four Eclipses in 2024 – two solar Eclipses and two Lunar Eclipses. The second Eclipse Season will cover September and October 2024.

- March 25, 2024: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra
- April 8, 2024: New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries
- September 17, 2024: Full Moon Solar Eclipse in Pisces
- October 2, 2024: New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra
What is an Eclipse in Astrology?
Eclipses are an alignment of the Sun, Moon, Lunar Nodes, and the Earth.
While we are familiar with the dance of the Sun and Moon that brings us a New Moon and Full Moon every month, Eclipses occur when the Moon reaches its upper and lower thresholds of its tilted elliptical orbit – these boundaries that represent the Lunar Nodes.
When the Moon’s orbit intersects the Lunar Nodes, it also forms a perfect alignment with the Sun and Earth. It is here that the new Moon becomes a Solar Eclipse, and the full Moon a Lunar Eclipse.
This interaction with the Lunar Nodes are what makes Eclipses so special.
What are the Lunar Nodes in Astrology?
The Lunar Nodes in Astrology, made up of the North Node and the South Node, represent destiny, purpose, and evolution. As the Sun – representing our spirit, inspiration, and life force – come aligns with the Moon – our intuitive nature, inner truths, needs, and emotions – and the Earth – the land upon which we bring our destiny into reality – this sense of purpose that the Lunar Nodes hold within them seems to have a gateway to travel through, a portal through which they can be heard, through which our call of destiny, alignment, or evolution can reach us.
The Lunar Nodes moved into Aries and Libra in July 2023 where they will remain in our cosmos until January 2025, inviting each of us to begin cultivating the courage to be wholly and independently ourselves. Both individually and collectively, we are building the courage to claim our desires and take action towards our visions. And building the courage to say yes to ourselves, even if that means saying no to others – bringing profound and deep change to our relationships with others.

Eclipses Signify Change
As we look back on our life’s journey, there are often moments in time where our direction took a clear shift.
Perhaps something ended or a new journey began. We meet the beginning and end of chapters in our lives so much so that we could say we have lived multiple lifetimes in the one whether these changes were initiated through blissful moments of joy, or our deepest cracking open.
Eclipses are often at the heart of these changes. Where what is for us is as clear as what is not for us. Where the voice of guidance – whether that be soul, higher self, intuition, God, or destiny – seems to get louder, clearer, felt deeper in our bodies than before. Where that voice meets us both from within – speaking through our emotions, ideas, or knowing – resulting in a new action taken and decision made, and our outer reality – though changes either thrust upon us that it could seem we have no say in.
Change seems to be at the core of Eclipse Season, as does some kind of greater purpose. They symbolize the kind of cracking-open that when we look back on, seem to be the very doorway unfolding into everything good, whole, and real that follows for years to come.
And while we may not always see the purpose within the changes of the moment, there is an element of surrender being asked of us throughout this season, a trust that seeds are being planted in this very moment, regardless of whether we know what they will grow into or not.

There is an undeniable force of energy etched into the very fabric of this season. Eclipses are the divinity within transformation and the light that pours through the cracks of change.
Siting at the core of this season and the upcoming eclipses is a strength, a presence, a purposefulness, an alignment, and a transformation that seems to only bring us closer to who we are, and closer to life itself – whether that direction is felt in the moment or reveals itself further along the path.
And if we know anything about transformation, it is that we cannot control it. We cannot orchestrate it, just as we cannot journey through it only with the mind.
It is within transformation that we are often led to our edges where the only option from there is to unclench our hands, breathe out, allow, trust – in ourselves and life – and to open to what is coming in.
While we many may say that change is difficult, we can also say that all we know is change. We know this terrain, for we have been journeying it for as long as we have been breathing. To go against change is to go against our nature.
