Just as nature itself reminds us of a slower pace, within astrology retrogrades do the same.
They are an invitation to mimic the seemingly backwards motion of the planet and go within, and to slow down enough to hear our inner guidance once again.
Today we know that when a planet is in retrograde it isn’t actually moving backwards as our ancestors believed. The truth, rather, is that this beautiful blue Earth completes its shorter orbit around the Sun quicker than other planets, and therefore periodically overtakes them. It is when the Earth overtake these planets that it looks, from our perspective, as if they are moving backwards.
While the speed of the Earth and life around us moves on, there is a part of us that doesn’t.
A part of us represented by the planet in retrograde.
This part of us instead slows down.
It takes a moment to ponder its path and question its actions. It becomes still enough to look around make sure it is taking steps that are true to its heart, are fulfilling, nourishing, and in alignment with what it truly desires for its life.
In astrology, Neptune is dreamy, abstract, subtle, and intuitive. It holds the energy of oneness with a beautifully spiritual nature.
This is the part of us that is slowing down, reassessing, realigning, understanding itself with greater depth.
The nurturing meditation or yoga flow that allows us to feel oneness with all of life around us…

This is a six month period where the veil lifts, higher and deeper truth comes to the surface. Neptune is our planed of spirituality, mysticism, and intuition. It is illusive and mysterious, subtle and dreamy. It lives in both the seen and unseen realms, blending them together – reminding us that our reality is a coming together of both the seen and unseen, the physical and the imagination.
While in retrograde it is in Pisces, its home sign. It is comfortable here. Watery. Emotional. Deeply spiritual. Very sensitive.
Neptune Retrograde in Pisces tap us into higher spiritual truths and guides us in connecting and expanding our intuitive senses, healing journey and expression of compassion. It opens our awareness of connection with Life, God, Soul, Source, Universe. A beautiful time to connect inward to a higher power, allowing more divine support and guidance. A beautiful time to sharpen intuitive senses and knowing.
There is beautiful potential for healing during this retrograde, especially through spirituality and creativity. This is a transit that allows us to connect inward. Exploring subconscious patterning and exploring insecurities so that we may nurture the source from which they were born, so that we may heal the roots of them through love, so that we may witness their higher truth through first witnessing their illusion.
Communicate, ask, open the dialogue with life. Ask to be shown any illusion present in your energy, life, experience. Ask to be shown the illusion so that you may then witness truth.
